The story Dead Stars by Paz Marquez Benitez counterpole the stereotyped roles and concept of a man and woman which sees the former as masculine, superior, and all-knowing while the latter as emotional, weak, and inferior. In addition, her writing was astounding for most of us for it was written in a patriarchal setting challenging the gender norms during that time while encouraging today's generation not to simply submit to what they are being told to follow or do so. This emphasizes the importance of being knowledgeable enough about our norms and how it is gradually changing as time passes due to enlightenment from current generations' perspectives and beliefs.

@bagunas.vst Love that statement of yours. To be a feminist means fighting not only for women’s rights but for men’s and other gender identities’ as well.

@coro.jmb YES! Break the patriarchal system as it not only hurts women, but men also.

I believe that this literature is a great example and or representation of the feminist movement in the present that women deserved equal social rights and accommodations. The story broke the notion of the patriarchal system in society as early as 1925 when this story was written. With being said by Andrea, as early as 1925, a woman like Benitez already strived better to debunk beliefs and stereotypical traits put upon the individual. And that was unprecedented for me, her as a catalyst of change.
